Welcome to Newaygo Upper Elementary,

     The staff at Velma Matson and I would like to take the opportunity to welcome students and parents to the upper elementary.  Newaygo Upper Elementary School houses grades 3-5 offering a variety of learning opportunities including music, physical education, art, and computer technology.  Our well-rounded educational programs enrich the core academic curriculum being taught daily in classrooms.  We strive to create an atmosphere built on the six keys of performance excellence:  safety, success, freedom and independence, love and belonging, fun and enjoyment, and valued purpose.   As a staff, we are committed to do all that we can in pursuit of excellence for all students!  Newaygo Upper Elementary will provide unrelenting coaching to our students until standards are met while creating a nurturing school setting that all will enjoy.  Our children are the greatest investment in our lives. Our positive involvement is critical for the growth and success of every child that attends our school.
